Ok folks, here is my stab at Dragons Tiger.. TankCarl got me motivated to get this cat started.. So far the lower hull is about finished, I did manage to reverse the PE rear fenders.. Thanks again Carl This is my first go with PE.. So far, im not a fan..
Todays work got the front hull plate and machine gun finished.. I did notice that after fitting this to the front of the deck, its going to be a bit of a job getting the upper deck and lower hull together..Any one else had any issues with that?? I will post pics a bit later.. Also completed the main gun assembly.. Now thats a nice piece of work on its own.. A little fiddly with the spent shell cradle parts though.. All the camera gear is packed and ready to go for first light, or earlier tomorrow.. Off to New Hampshire for the wifes family reunion.. Im gonna shot some phots now and probably post them when we arrive.. Anyway, here is what Ive shot so far..
Dave
..
DOH.. fenders on wrong sides..
Nice looking cooling fans and rads.. Not opening the rear decks though..
My first set of Tiger wheels
Love the working suspension.. Might have to snag another of these kits for the Acadamy Tiger w/ interior kit that Ive got..
Not sure about the tracks yet.. Might see if I can sweet talk SWMBO into a set a Fruils... Thanks for the time, and as always comments are welcomed..

You're better off to get Tank Work Shop's Tiger interior. Much more accurate. Academy's is slightly better than the old Tamiya 1/25 tiger.

Looks like the grunt work is over Dave, until you have to paint those wheels of course! Keep the pics a-comin!

Dave, looking good. Fitting the upper hull with the lower glacis in place is a problem. You might like to have a quick read of this , where I mention it.

Fitting the upper hull with the lower glacis in place is a problem.
After trial and error and a good bit of swearing, it will go together. Great kit even with the fit puzzle.

Trial & error and a bit of swearing is unnecessary, just hold off on cementing the lower Glacis and it all drops together.

Vinnie,
Are you saying not to glue it at all. That's what I gathered reading your article. (Great article BTW)
I am assuming it will be held it place when the upper hull is cemented in place. Is that correct?
Thanks,
Shaun

Shaun, no. Just don't glue when the instructions tell you to. Glue it after the upper hull is fitted.

Dragon defnitiely learns. In the new Late version Tiger they noted this problem and don't show gluing the lower glacis on until after the upper hull
