Does anyone have any thoughts on this kit? I know it's an OOP kit but, I was wondering if it's a descent kit. Thanks

Is this the easy 8 kit? If it is kit #9010 wrong Hull Kit#9010x corrected hull version. To me I would not care but a Sherman guy might get ticked off :-) (:-) . Hope you did good as I can get one the 9010 for 28.00.

I have built one The one I had built came with a resin lower hull that was warped,so I had to use the plastic one Basically all you have to do id sand off the old mounting units A dremel motor tool makes it easy It's not too bad of a kit
Also on the side fender extensions that go on the hull sides,sand them down a bit so they are even with the fenders that go over the sprocket If I can think of any thing that'll help you out I'll let you know

Decent kit, only OOB WW2 HVSS Sherman around. Resin hulled kits are more of a collector's item now. The original kits had the Italeri lower hull. Then the resin correction hull was added until a new mold was cut for the lower hull. Most of the ones you will find on the shelves would be the ones with the corrected lower hull. (three variants floating around out there). They did the same thing with the Korean War variant M4A3E8 (#9009, 9009X & 6811).

Thanks for the info guys. I've been wanting to get my hands on one for a while now. I knew of the hull incorrectness just was not sure of what was wrong exactly. The kit's # is 9010, I paid $25 including shipping.
Rob, or anyone else, is this the kit with the incorrect hull? Is all that's needed to fix it, a little sanding?

I'm not sure of all the ins & outs of correcting the hull. I do know that the Italeri VVSS mounting points on the lower hull have to be removed so the DML HVSS suspension can be attached. It should be pointed out in the instructions, usually in blue. I'd just build it as is and pay special attention to the boogie/hull joint. I've had to re-glue my suspension a couple of times. When I do another some day, I'll add some mounting lugs or miniscule screws to the assembly.
