Hi All, I bought he Waldemar Trojca book on the KV 1 and 2 at War and Peace Show . On pages 22 and 24 there is a photos of a new to me KVi , it has KV2 wheels and the front of the hull has a barbarate made of steel plate housing a flame thrower armoured cover . The additional hull armour protrudes up above the hull line and the Turret has 3 pieces of additional armour plate next to the Trunions . Has anyone seen more photographs and know of its proper disiganation . I have all ready built it and now must buy an other KV 2 to get the correct wheels . I hope there are some left at MAFVA Nationals at Duxford on Sunday cheers ian

Sandy...when you say KV and flamethrower, I think KV-8...
http://www.battlefield.ru/kv8.html
But the flamethrower was in the turret.
Maybe it was one of the experimental KVs. Anything on this page look like it?...

This KV-1 page has a list of the variations at the bottom. Maybe something will ring a bell...

So, how do you like the book?

Hi , the book is great a pity about the quality of the photos they are a little grainy , They could be sharper but all the details are there . The Tank in question is shot up in a battle so if it was experimental it must have been near to a factory . The flamethrower is definately in the hull and the front armour has been specialy made to fit the barbarette and so I tend to think of a factory job not a field modification cheers ian
