Finally, after a 5 month wait., it arrived. I havet he initail they released back in Decmber, and this one is even better. I know there was that assembly problem with the front glacis plate, they corrected the sequence on that. They've got the hollow horn track for display purpose, and a website you can order more of it if you want to replace the track that came with the kit. This time they included the photo etched grills. There are tons of super-detailing parts with this one. In fact glancing through the parts and instructions the only thing missing that I want is an AA machine gun. They did have the mount, so as I have a dozen MG-34's laying around this ain't a problem. I think with all these wondeful Tigers out there that have everyone excited we need to have a Tiger Tank only campaign. Any version of a Tiger tank, any scale. What do you all think? Or maybe a MEOW Campaign Panthers, Tigers and Leopards?

I like the idea!!! Feline armor of all kinds: Leopards, Tigers, Panthers, Pumas, Luchs, Gepards, Jaguars etc.

Can't wait until my Tiger drops down the mail-box. Have heard so many good things about the kit so I'm looking forward to lay my hands on one.

If you plan to build it out of the box and have accurate replica, then get Tiger I Initial which includes everything you need to build excellent model of this very early cat. To make Tiger I Late kit fully accurate you need to add Zimmerit which is not included, so it requires some extra work.
But Tiger I Late kit includes more parts, some details were slightly improved and it gives you much more interesting camouflage and markings options. So probably this kit offers slightly better value for money, but only if you are not scared by the need to add Zimmerit.

Think a "MEOW" Campaign is a terrific idea. With "Tank Destroyer" getting ready to finish up and "Spahwagen" close behind, it would work to gear up for another great Armor campaign. Maybe starting in Sep/Oct timeframe and running through Spring? Let us know and count me in!

Mine's due to arrive Tuesday. From Stuke's picture it looks to have quite a bit more PE included than the Initial version.
Too bad about the lack of zimmerit. Maybe Eduard's zimmerit kit for the Tamiya late version will fit it. It's only $11.00 so I might give that a try.

I've never set up or run a campaign. I guess if we were to set up parameters, we would limit it to armored vehicles (sorry airplane guys, you can run your own MEOW cmpaign if you wish). Has to have cat in it's nickname, though to be honest I would think you would build the Hellcat in the currently running Tank Destroyers campaign. I personally am involved in the Dreadnaughts campaign and have enrolled in the Flattop (aircraft carrier) and Viet Nam campaigns. So , lets get a feel for any interest at this point and then figure when we could squeeze it in. Sabot, Big Jim, Guntrucks can you offer some guidance here. I know there are lots of folks out there who probably have a stash of Tigers and Panthers laying around, and this gives the modern guys an interest as well.

These types of group builds always end up with "mission creep" where folks toss in ideas that sort of take a tangent to the original developer's goal (re: Hellcat and Pink Panther). My statement does not mean I am against inclusion of those types of vehicles, just pointing out an observation.I've never set up or run a campaign. I guess if we were to set up parameters, we would limit it to armored vehicles (sorry airplane guys, you can run your own MEOW cmpaign if you wish). One of the problems we have been having with group builds is that they seem to be wide spread and without real focus. I think that's why Jim S. & Jim L. put a moritorium on GBs until next year.
Most GBs start when someone finally received a long awaited kit and then decides we should have a GB that some how encompasses that new kit. Just another observation and not a statement that there is anything wrong with starting GBs for this reason.
The original goals for a campaign or group build were to learn something or to signify a historical event (like Barbarossa, Ardennes, North Africa, D-Day, etc.). You may have a better chance of approval if you try to form the build around some sort of historical point or event.
But I don't see anything wrong with your guidelines. It sounds like a fun build. Nice looking kit too.

Aaron:
This ain't a campaign yet. All it is is an idea thrown out to test the waters. After some guidance is given, then it will get formally presented as a campaign plan. If it gets approved then it will become a campaign. But, enjoy your "initial" and trust me you'll love the late version as well. (I have both and can't wait to crack into one of them)
