Hi Gang,

Here's some first shots of my entry for the Amphib campaign.
There's not much too see at this moment, but I made some early stage pic's.
This is Eduard's 1:16 Schwimmwagen, it needs some work, like putty, sanding and filing, and the overall fit is not as good as I expected.
But with some love and care, I think it will turn out quite nice in the end!

Let me know what you think,

John.

1:16 huh? Must be fun, even with the fitting problems

Can't give any constructive comments for the moment...

Good luck and keep us posted

Looks good so far!
1:16, that's gonna be an interesting model, specially in details!
Never heard of the kit before. Is it a plastic kit (looks like it) with PE parts? What was the price (if you don't mind I'm asking...)

Hey Paul,

The kit is in plastic indeed, and comes with PE. (What else to expect from Eduard).
My impression is that the details are a bit on the heavy side, and I must say that some of the 1:35 counterparts have some better detail.
For example: The canvas roll on the Eduard kit is FAR worse sculpted, than it's 1:35 Tamiya counterpart.
But this kit leaves some room for scratch-building, and I always like that!!
BTW, I got this kit out of a trade, but I believe it is listed for €75,00 at Mol Plasticmodelbouw.

Thanks John,

I guess it's the only 1:18 schwimmwagen there is on the market? I know Tamiya makes a 1:16 Kubel, not a Schwimm.
I follow your progress, perhaps I buy it once myself...

BTW, are you one of the writers for that (great) new Dutch modelling magazine?????
Must be, otherwise someone is using your name :-)
