Hi
Here are some pics of my just finished 1/35 dio.
This depicts Russian infantry moving quickly over icy ground on a damp morning to the safety of a stone wall after the T34 crew spot the enemy in the distance. Tank and figures are Tamiya. Hope you like.

I like the scene, full of action, for the T-34, this might just be me, but I think there should be more color variation of the roadwheels and spare tracks. all in all, good diorama

Nice dio Glen, I really like the way you have done the frozen/icy ground work.

Glen,
nice diorama ! A lot of action in it. Perhaps you can spice up the diorama with some color.... perhaps a Russian flag? A few loose stones/rocks here and there and some foliage / thinner braches / undergrowth of the tree.
If this is the story then it would be unwise for the gunner and the Tank commander to have their heads and bodies above the turret....
The composition is good, but I think it can use some extra details.
A very nice diorama!

Hi Here are some pics of my just finished 1/35 dio. This depicts Russian infantry moving quickly over icy ground on a damp morning to the safety of a stone wall ...
Nice Job... nice basic structure and story line.
couple of thoughts....
T34 too clean.
I like you basic lay-out, Nice use of angles to counter the rectangular base.
but
"AND THIS IS JUST A THOUGHT FOR THE FUTURE, NOT A CRISITSM"-
1. next time think about that same t34 blowing through the wall... breaking it down as it moves into positon... add a lot of drama to the story...
2. if you ar using unfinished edges, finih them off by rolling your ground work over the edge. it gives it a finished look.
again just a few thoughts.
keep up the great work

Like it Glen!
Think there should be some snow on the track/trail running perpendicular to the tank though, even if something had been using it after the snowfall... (if this was the case then only the track marks would NOT haver snow cover...) Hope this helps AND makes sense mate
Cheers

Nice overall diorama. A couple of pointers that would make it a bit better. The T34 is to straight, it's to perpendicular to the road. If you angle it (next time) it will add a bit of visual interest.
The large open area to the soldiers left could use a bit of something. An old farm holding pen, or a fallen tree, or rocks, something.

Ok I have dirtied up the tank a bit.
Have also finished off the edges. Can't take photos till tomorrow, as night time photos with flash don't do much for realism.
As for more colour...no...I meant it to be stark and cold.
The tallish grass at the base of the tree is not very visible in these photos.
Danny..the enemy is not actually firing as yet, but I can assure you, when they do, the tank crew will be lower!!
Here's a thought for the experienced guys...you might want to try and give some detail about the good points of we novice's work as well as listing the possible improvements.
It is not a criticism, just an observation!! As a newbie modeller I want to know what I have done RIGHT as well as where I need to improve.
Cheers!!

glenb - good point and personally I usually do - but I didn't this time - sorry
Here goes
I like the shape of the wall the triangle is nicely done and very convincing.
I like the light application of the snow - the ground underneth showing through adds a nice level of realism.
The positioning of the infantry is nicely spaced, it looks like they came off the tank in a quick orderly fashion trying to get to cover.
