Yo fellow modelers, i have a question. My Hobby shop nearby doesnt have any SdKfz 251/1 troop carriers, simply troop carriers with 2 MG 42 guns. Instead they have the Tamiya Stuka Zu Fuss, but i need the troop carrier, can i after assembly of the main vehicle, ignore the rocket assembly and simply not install it to covert it to a troop carrier? Will that do or do i have a complication?

Volkov,

I think you would be much better off ordering one of the new DML 3 in 1 series German halftracks. Would probably cost you about the same and be a lot less hassle. I don't have the "Stuka zu Fuss" kit so I cannot comment about whether or not it comes with the bench seats, rifle racks, etc. you would need to have to turn this into the troop carrier version.

DML kit:

VladVolkov i had built the tamiya zu fuss, and, yes i think you can leave the rockets and launching crates to get a basic 251D... i dont think there'll be any problem

There are a couple of stakes on the front fenders for aiming the rockets they would need removal too.
but other then that nothings stopping you.

Yeah thats what i noticed while reading the instructions, just forget about the aiming rods and the missile crates. Get some sprues and build launch pad for them to make a separate kit.
