Has anyone built this kit? If so, can you give me a heads up on ANY problems with this kit? Also, ref pics that are good, but hard to find, are greatly appreciated

Hi Tiger

Yes I have built this kit and it is a work of art , DML's moulding technique makes for some very intricate and detailed parts with very little flash or injection marks.
Included is a small PE fret ,2 alloy barrels , alloy actuators, brass shells and chains .

With regards to any problems-

Some care needs to be taken when constructing the gun cradle and attaching the barrel if you wish to retain barrel elevation/depression movement , and talking of the barrel the alloy ones have the advantage of no seam lines but the plastic ones have rifling so personel choice on which you prefer to use .

The bogies are complex and the instructions are a little unclear on the correct positioning of some of parts, however the instruction sheet is well done so you can check on images of the later stages of the assembly as to where the parts should be fitted, oh and the and the tyre assembly is overly complex but they do look good once together (just a minor gripe lol).

In all its an amazing and complex kit (if i remember rightly the barrel/cradle has over 100 parts ) with lots of extras and i would definately recomend it .

Can't speak for jet, but I believe you are seeing liquid mask built up in areas. Once removed, it will expose the color beneath it.

Very common technique for the aircraft builders, and appears to have many uses in the armor arena.

I'll be using jet's build as a reference for my own, combined with the Osprey book.

yep that's the resist you are looking at. I don't know if I would do it this way again though...
here is the result after taking the resist off.
