very nice figures and diorama (better than my feeble skills :-) ), however they are not of the 1720 era, but more of the Buckskinner era of the 1830's and 1840's. For many years I studied the American Revolution, French and Indian Wars (Seven Years War for the Europeans here ) and the Napoleonic era.

Very cool, I like it a lot. The techniques are solid and well done.
The only thing I would do differently is to create a small clearing next to the stream.
This is just the thing VLS is going toward with there new western line of products. Nice

Lots of really neat things here. The wild flowers and water lillies are a great touch. Very effective embers inthe fire pit, though I think they'd have cleared the grass away from the edge more. The water is very well done and i like the varying layers of grass and the tree debris under the tree.Figures are very nicely painted as mentioned in your in progress posts.Good color palettes as well. Just a very nice little vignette.
Congrats.

A wonderful little scene !!
the coals under the bucket are excellent ... they really seem (or is it seam ?? ) to glow.

thanks for all the comments! AJ, thanks for the info, i'll be sure to rename it with this in mind. joe, for the grass i used a generous blend of woodland scenics static flock and field grass. i used harvest gold, the honey one, light green and medium green. for leaves i used extra crushed parsley flakes that were soaked in burnt sienna and burnt umber washes.

Justin thanks for the parsley tip, Love the leaf litter and the figure but imoho I think just a little to much dead space but that is only my thought and does not distract from the whole piece - Love the stream -could imagine fly fishing of the bank -I don't fly fish but at least I can imagine :-) :-)
