Night people.
At some days, my fingers starts to itch so I got to build or paint something. But usually I'm too tired to paint. Then I do some scratchwork like the leather ropes on the cans for the gasmasks on my AfricakorpsDio. Now that part is over and I don't have got any other projects, I had to do something to satisfy that feeling. So here I am with another idea. And I admit. Someone here at the forum had given me the idea with his lovely vignet.
I have the fig awhile without a project in mind for it. So I can use it now. The tree's selfmade.
This is not the final lay-out. But maybe it can be. I like it like it is now. But the barrel doesn't get the right feeling with me. Maybe someone can help me with an idea for replacing this?
Night night

Looks to me like he's waiting for something or someone - a local lady perhaps?

that's an idea! Then I can lay them down on the barrel. Or I got to find something else to put them on.

Hi Wes,
My idea is to replace the barrel with equipment. Hmmm...here goes.
1) Replace barrel with back-pack a , rolled zeltbahn and other equipments and put them beside the fig.
2) Prop SG43 by the fence
Cheers

Like the layout, how was the tree made?
There are a lot of things you could put there, but I think if you wanted to make this sort of a before/after action scene, Warthog's idea could really make it work, maybe leave the barrel there, lean the backpack against the fence, a long with his weapon. Maybe dirty that fence up with some broken pieces? Just a thought

I like the general shape and layout - I think the barrel is a bit 'hard', a wooden barrel would achieve the same balance and shape and soften the look a bit.
I would push the fence back a smidge off the 45 diagonal.
I love the tree, nice shape and texture, and I like the 'hole' in the side of it.

I like the flowers and bottle of wine on the barrel.

Hola people,
Thx to problems at my parents house, my africakorps cant be finished. And I regret it, because I felt like I was doing something right here.
But, I can't sit still, so here I am with a little update from my work of tonight.
The groundwork's ready for his primer and basic layers. The fence will be reworked. It wasn't dry when I touched it.
After it's all painted I'll add some leaves and maybe something else, but I got to look after some things then.
Does someone know a good producent (?) of flowers and little plants for this scale?
My little update:
cheers

We think a like - I thought the exact same thing.
He appears to be quite thoughtfull - perhaps a letter from home? Tuck a few small sheets out from under a hand and maybe he's thinking wistfully of home?
Edit: and call it "all lonely on the western front" - LOL

Good so far, for leaves look in your pantry for some cooking herbs, oregano, parsley etc...just airbrush those to the color of your liking and you're good to go
