Ive just completed my Tamiya troop carrier for the sole purpose of having one, but when i tried fitting in the Tamiya-ish sitting German troops, they didnt fit in the troop compartament. The question is, what kind of German figures can fit sitting in the carrier and perhaps even holding the on board MG. I used to read the Modeling Magazine and in one issue (dont remember which one and i dont intend on digging through my magazine pile to know) i saw a big article about the SdKfz 250 and some pics of it and the 251. In the photos i saw small red screws on the wheels of the vehicle, one in the center of each wheel. Was it really like that? The 251 i saw in Moscow Kubinka was all corpse pale in color and belonged to the SS, machine number 25012 .

Dragon makes a 251 crew figure set, kit number 6193. I have heard that the driver and radio operator are a pain the get seated properly (read you have to cut their feet off) but the standing figures may be of some use.

You've got be kidding me, 5$ for figures? HOW DO I ORDER THESE GUYS!!!? Im foaming at the mouth already, when do they ship? Whats the shipping price to Lebanon? Are there any Russian dudes? How about German STAZI spec ops units? Did i ever mention that in Moscow i underwent (voluntarily) military training in a camp firing all kinds of weapons and undergoing physical training, it was the best 3 months of summer i ever spent. When i was back in Chile back when i was 16 i saw Chilean marines, damn those dudes look though. Does anybody know how tough the feedback of a Dragunov SVD 7.62mm on the shoulder is? The scope actually sucks, i think, it was a bit murky.

If the "Tamiya-ish" figures you were trying were the Tamiya four seated men in camoflaged smocks, they won't fit as they were intended for the Horch 1a. They aren't very inspiring by modern standards anyway.
I have a set of resin Germans intended for a Mercedes field car, but I can't remember the maker, it was a German firm. They are SS as well, & include an officer standing leaning on the bonnet. I managed to squeeze them into a Steyr, so I think they would suit your purposes. Sorry if this isn't very helpful!
I should forget any colour schemes you saw in the Kubinka, I've viewed some of them on the Jagdtiger web site & they really are bizarre! The red wheel nuts are a new one on me - there would be no reason for this anyway, the painting of wheel nuts red is to warn users changing tyres that the vehicle has split rims, which is definitely not the case with a Hanomag half track!

Here's a photo which shows some of the figures, so you can identify them. Hopefully some one may know who the maker is (none of the figures shown are intended for the vehicle they are in).
The guy standing up at the front is the resin officer. The bareheaded trooper with his back to you is another resin figure, as is the one facing him in a camo cap. The rest are the old Tamiya "German soldiers seated", except for the firing soldier who is Trumpeter.

Just found a copy of receipt for these resin figures, they came from Modelbau Moers (German company, were exhibiting @ Beltring 2 years back). Cost then was 38 Euros for 6 figures (about £28). They are intended for a Mercedes field car (Kfz69) similar to the Horch 1a. Hope this helps.

A lot of 'in action' pics you see of 250's/251's have the troops standing either to see what's happening, to fire their weapons, or to make a quick exit over the side.
