What is the best color for broken red brick. I know the out side of the brick is a darker red, but what should the broken part be??

I've broken a few bricks in my life...
As far as I know, the inside of bricks is pretty much the same color as outside. Except that the outside might be a bit dirty and dusty.

I have used Tamiya's Hull Red paint for brick work and for broken or chipped bricks I add some white to it to give it a cleaner pinkish colour to the inside that hasn't seen all the weather and dirt the outside of the brick has.
Hope this helps

I've used pastels to mix and match to get an acceptable color. Don't forget if the brick broke because of a bomb, there's going to be a lot of dust and dirt over the newly exposed brick innerds.

Maybe try drybrushing the broken or chipped bits a lighter colour such as sand or just a lighter red.

I use DECOART "Brick Red".... costs about 75 cents a bottle, and then to make shades, just add a little tan, beige, or white.
