Hi Guys,
This is my second time to build a diorama. This dio is intended for the TD campaign. I need comments/ideas on how to improve what I already accomplished...there might some more thing I could add to spice it up a little bit more.
Here are some pic:

Looks good to me. Maybe some better pics taken with the outdoor light will enhance the dio

Very nice work Warthog. Your groundwork is well done with a bit of topography, nicely place vegetation and contrast.
I was just wondering though. It appears the tank was knocked out and I'm assuming the crew bailed out. Wouldn't the hatches be opened? Opened hatches might help add to the dynamictism of the tense action your'e portraying.
The other thing I can think of is to add a bit more soil?mud to the outer rim of the hole. Depending on whether the track was blown by a mine or a bazooka, and I'm guessing its the former, there usually is a fair bit of soil churned up. More so if the soil ain't too compacted.

I can see alot of thing I like. Paint job, set-up, etc..
Anything else is just suggestions, Not sure about the height of the anti mine stuff on the side. (Not big on the german stuff)There would seem to be alot more dirt clumps on the vehicle (like all over) after such a large explosion. Open hatchs for sure, and you might want to think about smoke.
On a photo before the guys were done it looks like the front left fender is melted, maybe sharpen up the edge a little, might be to late. Some minor filing only.
Maybe some minor wounds on the guys, not sure about the number of guys in one of those but if you don't have them all out, someone died and it would suggest alot more personal damage.
Ground work looks great, like the way you did the grass.
Looking forward to seeing the final dio, really great work.

Hi Beachbum,
I agree with your observation regarding the hatches...in fact I really forgot to open them when I took the photo .
The pic above is a close-up of what I did with the crater. Do you think I should add a few more soil around the crater?
Thanks

Looks nice, about the only thing I can say is kill the shine. Give the whole thing a coat of dullcoat or the likes, it will improve it tremendously!

Three things;
The guy withthe MG is being protected by a Gerry can. Unless that's labeled for water, that's not a good thing to do.
The damaged track lookls like it's susp[ended in spaceUnless it's hooked on somthing I can't see in the pics, it should flow over the front roadwheel more.
lastly, there's at least one guy shooting at the enemy and several guys seem to be rather casual, the guy kneeling without a helmet. the guy next to him, the guy walking up with the Schmeiser and the tanker walking awy from the front of the tank.

- Noticed that too. I think it was when I decided to add the second set of roadwheels, I forgot to adjust the tracks. I'll correct that tonight....nice observation

- I'm not sure how to depict in the dio that there is no engagement yet, any suggestion to show that idea would be very much appreciated.
The idea/plan was to show what immediately happened after the mine incident. The Panzer grenadiers as well as other tanker w/ MP40 were just in the position scouting for any immenent attack (there is not yet). The other panzer crew just came off the Elefant probably a few minutes after the mine incident....
Thank you for the very important obeservations and suggestions...
BTW, I also noticed the gloss in some of the figs....I'll definitely take care of that..

Arvin I personally would go with a bit more churned out soil at the rim of the crater, if for nothing else it makes the explosion a bit more dramatic. A few clumps of grass and soil nearby would be good too.
At any rate its a well done dio.

A very nice dio, and I think you did the mine damage very well. On the subject of Arnold Swarzenegger firing the MG 42, I don't think the MG 42 would be fired from the shoulder only supported by the right hand. Try to reposition the figure to make the MG lean on the vehicle.

Henk: You got me there...the original plan was to prop the MG42 on the schwimmwagen hood using a bi-pod. Unfortunately, the bi-pod was misplace...I guess I hav to scratchbuild one or find a replacement...
Thanks for MG42 advise...
