My first attempt at figures. A Nemrod figure - really nice because all the equipment is separate and reaaly well molded. All done with Vallejo acrylics and using Jaime Ortizs' method shading/highlighting. Next time I'll remember to mix flat base with the paint! Still some touch up to do and yes, the end of the rifle went to the carpet monster

Thanks - The tank is two posts further down in the forum. Since fininishing the figure I have got two Waffen SS camo reference books and intend to do a lot more of them (love that 'oak' pattern), maybe also 120mm figures.
I think the figure came out ok because I spent two weeks doing it over and over until I was happy. Also because I invested in some good Vallejo Kolinsky Sable brushes from Netmerchants

I have to agree with the other posters, that is a GREAT figure. I'm now going off to sulk about the state of my figures...

I don't think it was the brushes, but the hand that made that figure incredible :-)
By the way, how did you get those photographs to come out so well? What camera/settings did you use?

Jaime is currently doing an interactive online tutorial on figures with acrylics here: http://www.timelinesforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=432
He is also doing a series in Xtreme Modelling on figure painting, issues 9 and 11 have detailed step-by-steps on two different subjects:
http://www.xtrememodelling.com/main.htm
There is also a very good Vallejo article on figure painting here:
http://www.ttfxmedia.com/vallejo/cgi-bin/_modelis.asp?p1=ing&p2=modelcolortecnicas#modelcolortecnica01
For a list of what Vallejo colours the top guys use for different camo schemes go here:
http://www.coloradominiatures.com/index.asp?PageAction=Custom&ID=5#fieldgrey1
Hope this helps
