Yes, I saw it towing an AA gun on box art. However you say it, it was a german military car in WWII somewhat long than a Kubelwagon.

Ah, must have been a Kfz. 15? Or a Kfz. 69?

I wasn't sure if you at first meant their civilian, sedan style, cars put to army use.

The Horch 1a was a personnel carrier classed as a standard heavy field car by the German pre-war Schell programme. The chassis (with modifications to allow rear steering) was also used for the Sdkfz 222 series of armoured cars, being a 4X4. It was supplied to all branches of the German armed forces (including Waffen SS), & is often seen in wartime pictures. As well as the standard infantry carrier, it also appeared in gun towing, ambulance, survey, line laying & radio versions. There were even vehicles that had a 20mm Flak gun mounted on them. Despite it's popularity, the Horch was a very complicated vehicle to make, production ending in 1942. However they continued to serve until the end of the war. Tamiya do a model which appears periodically in various guises, latterly towing a 20mm Flak. It is probably OOP ATM, but you can pick one up fairly easily if you want (it is about 30 years old!). The Horch was replaced by the Steyr 1500, also modelled by Tamiya.

Good call Gino, but the Italaeri offering, although it is also a Horch, is for the medium class Schell programme vehicle (Kfz15). Mike was interested in the 1a, which is the larger vehicle. BTW although production ceased on the 1a, the medium field car (a la Italaeri) stayed in production throughout the war, as it was not replaced.
