Hi guys,
I'd like to show you photos of my last model. It's Tamiya almost OOB only with PE grills and some minor additions which you can easily recognize. Ration boxes were printed from excelent graphic prepared by Paul Truhe, you can find them on here on Armorama.
I'm waiting for your comments, be honest I know it's not best Chally on the web

Hi PiotrS
Very nice chally , the tarp across the front of the hull looks very good , I built the Tamiya Challenger 1
many years ago with the Accurate Armour add on extra armour set and after seeing yours im itching to build the new Challenger 2.
How did you make the tarp across the front of the hull it looks really good , is it tissue soaked in pva ?
Just one tiny little thing , I would have altered is the carrying handle on the loaders maching gun , they are normally folded over to the side as not to obstruct the sites
btw nice touch with the teddy bear :-)

It's great!
Wish I could build one as good as that.

Thanks for your comments, guys.
Tarp is from tissue soaked in white glue mixed with water, in my opinion it's best technique for any tarps or canvas.
I'm very proud that you could recognize teddy bear in my poor sculpting :-)

Nothing poor about the sculpting mate. I think it's a great addition. I'd love to use it myself some time. Is that okay with you?

I like your build - you did a great job!! I think your build is nice and clean and it looks very realistic. I particularly think you did a splendid job on the figures.
I'm guessing the addition of the teddy bear on the panoramic sight was inspired by the well known MOD photo that showed a Chally 2 with a bear strapped to the site.
Keep up the great work and please share your finished builds with us again.
Cheers - Dan

Good looking work Piotr. The paintjob and subtle weathering looks great. Figures and groundwork look good too.
I too, would like to know ,how you made the tarp.

Hi Piotr... the Challenger looks great... love the weathering and great touch on adding the teddy bear.
Just one question: How did you make the groundwork?

As I wrote before tarp is made from tissue. First I mix white glue 1:1 with water, then soak tissue and form right shape. When dry I paint it with airbrush and next apply oil washes. That's all - this technique is also suitable for making canvas on softskins. One important thing is not overdose glue and water because tissue can rip.
Groundwork is also very simple - it's frame for photos filled with plaster and covered fine sand or even dirt when wet. After drying usually I spray few coats of matt varnish for better durability. Finally I use pigments in the same colors like those on vehicle. Hope this helps,
Piotr

Looks pretty damn good to me. How did you make your base? Looks like you sprinkled some fine sand on it but im sure you did more than they. Do share as im hoping to create a decent looking base for M1A2 as well.
