I just got the new pictures of my wall uploaded and figured i’d show your guys how its coming along.

nothings fastened yet and the wall is in 2 pieces really aren’t lined up yet. When finished the building will be square.

I still have to dull coat the wall and when I do that I’ll sprinkle some soot on it.
I’m thinking of making the soot by burning some fine sawdust.

I don’t know what to do about ground cover. I’m thinking of using the soot as ground near the building and try blending it in with dead grass but I don’t know how far away from the building I should take the burnt look.

I might also add a street at the 2 front corners but I don’t know yet.

when finished the building will have German panzergrenadiers in it just noticing and reacting to the American squad advancing on it.

any advice ideas would be appreciate aswell.

Sounds like a good plan, I like the street idea, you can add some rubble to it to fill in any open space. How many figures are you planning to add?

I think the wall looks good mate but to make it look more realistic damage the corners etc. of the exposed bricks. When a wall collapses it breaks the corners and edges of the brick. Easy to do now before you go any further and I think it will make alot of difference.
Keep us updated.

Thanks for the input.

Parks20 I don’t know yet how many figures will be in it.
I have 8 Germans but have only come up with a place for 4 of them so far. If I can’t find a good place for the other ones they may not be added.
Theres also going to be an MG42 in the window opening.
For the Americans I have 6 and they will probably all be used.

But I’ll have to wait till I get some more of them finished to see how things look.

I’ll be adding some rubble around the building as well.
In the pictures you can see some of the places I lightly outlined to show where I want to put heaps of rubble.

Remearmr I think I’ll do that. I think it would help to break up the outline of the wall. Thanks.

Your wall is looking great. I guess there will be a lot of rubbel around it since the house has got a good hit?

Nice work so far. The mortar is coming along nicely.

One thing I would do is to add the mortar color to the top of some of the exposed bricks, especially the ones that have a small thin line across the top edge (second image, middle section, two hovering exposed bricks are the ones I am refering to.)

your right Erik I’ll be adding rubble in and around most of the building. Thats one of the main reasons I don’t know exactly how many of the figures I’ll be using yet. Most of the ground covering inside the house will be rubble with a few heaps around the blown out areas.

I’m thinking tonight I may be able to draw up where all the heaps of rubble will be.

Scott I’ve actually all ready started on that. I still have some touch up work with that.

I’ve chipped up some of the exposed brick as Remearmr suggested and I I think it turned out pretty good. While doing so io also chipped away at some of the half blocks. The ones in the corners and where the broken wall appears to go straight up. It really helps to make it make it less uniform.
I still have a little bit of touch up work to do to make them blend back in with the rest of the wall before I finish it up.

After I get them finished I’ll try to update it.

thanks for all the advice.
