Hi all,
I'm thinking of tackling my very first diorama with the following idea I got from the Saving Private Ryan movie:
You see a SdKfz 251 standing in a grass field, in the French countryside. The Germans are busy climbing out because they saw something suspicious in the grass.
The Allies are lying in the grass waiting for the right time to attack (one Allied soldier gets ready to fire his anti-tank weapon and take out the SdKfz). So, basically it's the calm before the storm!
The trick is this : I'd like to use the SilFlor 8mm grass mat as my ground cover, but this grass is not long enough for a 1/35 dio, and I'm also limited with space, so it must be done in either 1/72 or maybe 1/48.
Any thoughts or alternatives on my idea? All are welcome!
TIA
Quintin

Yes that is a good scene to make but I think you should buy new grass and make it 1/35.
Space does not have to be to scale as such just enough to represent what is happening.
Let us know what you decide.
Cheers

Have a look at this review. I think it may be exactly what you want to do the dio in 1:35. If that's too short, you can use the bristles from a decorators paint brush.

Hi Dave
Thanks for the tip. However, it still seems as though the grass will be a bit too short (9.5mm). But I'll get myself a sheet and see if it will work.
I'll keep you guys posted.
