Hi Everyone. I am starting a new dio and have a couple questions about an add on to a Pz3. Can any one tell me if there is a PE kit available to reproduce the box on the back of this pz3?

If there isnt a kit does any one have a drawing of this box with demensions? Any help on this would be great appreciated. Even just knowing how the box is mounted is a great help. Thanks Kevin

Hi Kevin ...Tiger Model Designs makes two different stowage boxes for the back end of a PanzerIII ..with the picture you posted I'd have to say it looks like the tall one... Here's a link...

Thanks for the fast reply Rick! I like those tool boxes a lot but Its not exactly what I am looking for. this box only mounts on the right hand rear of the tank. here is another pic of one.

Again any help would be appreciated. Thanks Kevin

Hmmm are you sure this is the same tank?? If you have the old series from Squadron.. Panzer Colors II you see a few pictures of 2 panzer division panzer III's and they seem to all have a large stowage box attached to the rear deck.. If that is not what you are trying to represent then I also noticed that TWS has some steamer trunks that look like the second picture you posted ...If you don't have the Panzer Color book and you want to see the pictures let me know and I'll e-mail them to you ..

As Bear implies, that may not the same type of box in the two pics. The one in the drawing is a full width stowage box mounted on the TOP of the rear deck. Although it is not shown in the illustration, there are usually two or four L brackets, or a low rack, welded to the deck to support the box. In the photo, the smaller box is supported by a bracket welded to the REAR of the engine deck. Unfortunately most photos are either unclear, or the tank is cluttered up with extra stowage so the exact bracket configuration is obscured.
