Building a Tamiya Walker with AFV Club's tracks and suspension, since all were a gift with some PE for it a while ago, and I don't like guessing so much about some things. Anyone know how many track links go on a side of M41?

I don't know exactly, but for the Skybow kit I'm making it looks like you'll need about half for each side. The tracks snap together and are _gently_ workable, at least to find out how many you need. (After that you can glue them.) Remember though that glued tracks sometimes shrink.

Ayup, that helps, although it frustrates me a little. 74 tracks gives you a nice tight fight, 76 sags a bit. Most M41's I have seen have well tensioned track.

That's why the oft-requested number of track blocks is generally pretty useless. Nobody is going to care how many links are on the model, let alone count them. Even if the wheel spacing and the track thickness was exactly correct - a very big IF - you still might not match the nominal value exactly. Even real tanks have at least a one link tolerance. . .
You should put "enough" links on to give the correct overall impression.
