Hey lads
Had a thought. If I wanted to portray a burnt out M4 (Did this happen?hehe;) where would I be able to find burnt out tracks? ie. no rubber blocks left, but only the steel 'rods' joining the end connectors showing...
Be darned if I can even remember seeing any pics of a burnt out Sherman model... Hmmmm...

The Modelkasten working tracks could work for this. The set I have (still unused) of plain block T-51 tracks require you to sandwich the block halves around the shafts. Looks to be a very slow and fiddley assembly job however, which is why mine are still unused.
EDIT
After digging my set out of the pending stash it looks as though the shafts may be a little under-sized when I compaired them to some photos. If no other source comes to light you could always do your burnt-out Sherman with one of the all metal track types.

Cromwell Models (UK) marketed "burnt" Sherman tracks like you're requesting. I've never seen them but they sound interesting.
