Hello all.

Trying to figure out how high the M-10 GMC's Radion Antenna that is on the left side should be..

from my comparision of photo's I eyeball it as being about 2 turrent heights above the hull... but thought i'd see if anyone here had the actual height so I can scale it down right.

thanks

Stephen Sewell's review of Minimeca's steel antennas for 1/35 vehicles indicates that US military vehicle antennas are either 2.77 meters, or 79mm in 1/35th scale) or 3 meters, 86mm in length. He also indicates that "WWII US antennas are not much different," with the exception of HF command/recon machines. Not a precise answer, admittedly, but unless your estimations are radically different, probably fairly close.

Here's Sewell's review (also in AMPS Boresight, if I recall correctly): http://www.kitreview.com/reviews/steeantennareviewcs_1.htm

I suppose the right thing to do, now, would be to order some antennas from Minimeca instead of simply stealing the measurements, and cutting our own!

Another question where the answer is frustratingly hard to locate. US antenna are sectional and come in lengths about 3ft long. The connectors are colour coded to ensure the antenna is assembled correctly.

If you look closely at photos the connectors are just about visible.

Cookies 2.77m antenna translates to 3 sections of 3ft (about).
