Hi im sorta new here ( been a member but have never really posted before ). Anyways, I'm sorta new to painting Historical Miniatures and I am looking for some help. Ive painted a few figures.. I started out using Vallejo Acrylics and used the vallejo brushes you can get through R&K productions. I have a few questions regarding paints and brushes. Well the smaller vallejo brushes crapped out on me and when I saw the Windsor and Newton series 7 brushes at dickblick.com for around 5-6 bucks a piece I picked them up. I have a feeling I dont know the right way to clean/take care of my brushes and thats why those brushes crapped out on me. Any tips on extending the life on your brushes? I just got the series 7 brushes and I'd like to have them last a long time without losing their point. Regarding the paints, I was wondering if anyone here has any experience using windsor and newton artist acrylics to paint their miniature figures. I have been using the Vallejo Acrylics for a bit now and stuck to just basic colors and mixed my own when it came to getting colors for uniforms, etc. I have been lookign for a good book on color theory and then I found "Color Theory and Application" by Bob Knee, and all of the colors used in the books are colors you can get from Windsor and Newton and the like. So I've been thinking about switching over to using Windsor and Newton Acrylics. I am just wondering if anyone here uses them and what they are like for painting miniatures.
Thats about it, thanks in advance.
