This question may have been gone over before, but I can't find it.
I'm working on Dragon's 251 C, the regular troop carrier version. The instructions completely skip over the installation of the rear door hinges!I'm looking at them ( parts c3 and c4) and they appear to be different from each other. Can someone help clear this up? I'm afraid if I put them on the wrong doors they won't fit when it comes time to assemble all the hull pieces.
Also, I'm a little peeved that they didn't show installation of the armored transmission cover that comes with this kit. It must be installed before the front suspension is finished, which I found out AFTER! Oh well, I plan to build more 251's and will use it later.
Thanks

Greg, in all fairness to Dragon, the armoured cover for the transmission is an extra, so I can forgive them for omitting it from the instructions, and they have now rectified that.
With regards to the hinges on the rear doors, grab a hinge, and youl'll notice that each hinge has a longer and a shorter side. Firstly, the longer side goes on the inside, as this is the only way it will work.
Hope this helps?

Vinnie,
thanks for the reply. I got the part about the longer side going on the actual door, and the shorter side on the rear plate, but the pins on each hinge are different depending on which way the hinge faces.
Specifically, on the short side of each hinge, one pin is longer than the other by quite a bit. Same thing with the long side of each one, but to a lesser extent. I guess what I really need to know is whether the long pin on the small end should go up or down. Man, I hope that makes sense !

Here's a photo to clarify what I'm trying to describe.

I've just taken a look at the 4 Cs I've built, and I've always put the long bit that you're talking about on the bottom. There is a picture in the New Vanguard book on 251's that shows it sitting noticeably higher than it would be if the two pins were the same size.
