Guys
Can anyone please tell me what the drum is for that goes between the wading trunks on this model and if it would be appropriate to fit one to the Academy M4A2 US marines sherman?

TIA
Pete

My understanding is that the tank was for drinking water. It had a hose and a "tap" for filling canteens/ jerrycans. I see no reason why you could not mount one on the Academy Sherman.

Yes, the tank was for water.
There are several pictures of M4A2s fitted with the tanks. Try and get hold of Concord Armor of the Pacific War. And there might be some info at www.hardcorpsmodels.com
