It is late Sunday evening in Norway, and I have got some work done with my Leopard 2 A4. The Tank got a base cote of Nato green a couple of days ago, and I fittet the side skirts yesterday, filled, and sanded today. What I thought was going to be easy turned out to be a pain in the . Poor fittings demanded a lot of sanding, and after repainting the area I discovered the need for some more filling. The crew is coming along with the rest of the tank. They are real "Frankensteins" made up from several spare parts, sprue and masking tape. They are not perfect, but will work with some more hard labour. The tracks are painted, and will probably be finished to morrow.
My Idea for the display is from the NRF (Nato Responce Force) Exercise "Iron Sword" wich was held in Norway in May. The Tank will meet up with a Dutch liason officer, and the name of the vignette will be the radio message sent by the tank commander to HQ. I will integrate a memorial coin from the exercise togheter with a unit coin (Relax, I got them for this project, so I don't have to buy beers the rest of my life for missing every coin check) as an memorial for the first NRF exercise in Norway.
Hope you like the idea.

I see you fixed the tow hooks that were molded incorrectly.
Why doesn't the 2A4 have the fun splinter camo on other Norwegian armor?

That is a good question, Paul. We stopped using the splinter camo when we got the CV 9030. All vehicles are now painted in a olive green, anti thermal paint. (at least that's what they tell us). You will still find some old M-113 A2s in the old camo, and most of the MB 240 GDs. And belive me: It was hell on earth painting the old camoflage.
