From Webshots.com :

Is this dozer blade a variant of the M9 blade used with the M60 (I'm no expert...)

Howdy Frenchy and Fanis. That dozer blade is the Brirish Pearson type. There are now a limited amount in service with the USMC in Iraq. To mount the blade the tank has to have four mounting points welded to the vehicles hull front. This limits which tanks in a unit can carry the blade. There is supposed to be a modified version or adapter plate on the way that will allow the blade to mount on any M1 series tank. There are more pictures of the blade mounted on a M1A1 at member Tank Leader's(Andy Elesky) photo gallery. I have already robbed my Trumpeter "Kosovo" Challenger 2 of the necessary Pearson pieces to fit a USMC M1A1. Out here.

Howdy Frenchy. You are welcome. "Tanks' for posting the "webshots" link. I have been all over that site this morning and could not find those photos. Some other neat detail items of interest are the crew wearing the kevlar helmet, sandbags around the CWS(Commanders Weapon Station) and the grenade launchers are once again loaded for use. Out here.

Hey, Mike
If you haven't done so already, check out the Albums with 'my deployment to Iraq' at the bottom of the list on the left. Some other photos of the blade equipped Abrams there, too, and higher-rez photos. Neat idea, looks like I need to get another Chally 2 with blade!

Howdy Jim. "Tanks" for the navagational information. I am going there next. My brother Ed thinks we can cast some blades from one master. I bet orders for that particular Trumpeter Challenger 2 kit will increase. A dozer blade is a good piece of gear to have. Out here.
