Thanks for getting the thread started Martin. Gives me an impetus to start my Schwimmwagen Although maybe I should try to finish the 1/72 corvette and 1/24 Bf 109 first...

Now that I found an on-line source for directions I can finish my Tamiya Schwimmwagen I must have threw them away by mistake when I was cleaning up the area in the bunk of my big rig :-) :-) I think I'll paint it panzer gray (++)

I was revamping an old LVT (A) 1 I completed about 2 years ago, in a heck of a mess. But, my new LVT just came in so I'll try and do both. Hopefully before the ending date. If time permits maybe I'll try doing some dio with water again. Scary, I was just never going to do water again, BIG mess. :-)

Once I get started I'll post some start up pics.

Good luck all,
Bob

Hey Martin. I built the italeri DUKW after it came out, and I tried several different options to dress it up .... 105mm (before it was released with this), milliput tarps, etc. but was never happy with it. It got sprayed, but then I filled in the side holes to make it a WW2 version and pulled off the milliput tarps. Its sat in a drawer since, in about 20 pieces.
Any chance I could enter the campaign with this ... might give me the buzz to complete it!

My BRDM is almost done just needs some final weathering touches and for my set of wheels to arrive. As of now I am seriously considering doing a diorama with a soviet armor company crossing a river if i can find enough (or any) references on their wading gear.

That's ok, go for it!

I know the problem or half-finished models waiting to be finished

Cheers Martin. I have spent last night sanding and fixing up little things. I then added some texture to the underneath to simulate dirt build-up. This moring I have primed it and hopefully before the day is out, I´ll have it sprayed. I have a figure for this as well as a load, and will probably make a suitable base. So I´ll have a campaign work-load before its all finished. Pictures will come later! Thanks.

Here you go It's a link to the Tamiya Schwimmwagen It's called "aasembly guide" rather than instruction sheet

I'm not sure if you want in work photos here or in the gallery. I was thinking the gallery was for the finished items.

Anyway, I started and took a picture of my mess pile, I ended up just making 2 LVT (A) 1's since I ended up with 2 kits from different company’s, they sure look the same. Italeri and Revell.

Both will be from the Saipan campaign in the PTO.

I end up having 3 different projects going on at the same time, things needing to dry, or awaiting parts, (Or I get frustrated and before I nuke something) etc...
I just hate waiting for paint to dry so I Have something else working to fill up the time. It never really hit me until I took this pic of my LVT builds.

Never a dull moment,
Bob

Tiger101, Scott Yep, that ones on hold untill I can figure out how to make the body of the mill look like bricks. I plan on using plaster for the body but scribing in those bricks would kill me. :-) I was thinking some kind of form to press on the soft plaster to make the shapes, just not to sure right now.
Here is a pic of the top section I have built but still need to paint and add on sections.

Never a dull moment,
Thanks for asking,
Bob

Well today after a week of searching for the one picture I had a brief memory of, I finally found it. Turns out It was not a T-72, but a T-80. No problem with that since I already have 3 in the stash. If I do go through with what I have in mind I will have to push hard to get it all done in four months but I think (or at least hope) I can do it, and with the amount of water I had projected I hope I don't "drown" myself in this project.

Thanks Chad, but really I was after an online reference of photos, kit inaccuracies and that sort of stuff. I've got the instruction sheet for the Tamiya kit

hmm ok thanks.

Guys (and girls)...I've got a question.

If someone else would ask this it would be up to me to decide but this time I'm the one asking....

I've got a half finished DUKW, in some subassemblies, still waiting for paint, stowage, canvas cover which I want to make myself etc etc. Would it be ok with you guys if I use this as 1 of my entries? Planning on a 100% new entry as well but this is just a nice oppertunity and motivation to finish my DUKW!

What do ya'll think?

Martin
