I have never done diorama before and I recently purchased some really great walls from Firestorm (really cheap too). I wanted to get a similar effect to that shown in their catalogue here http://firestorm1.topcities.com/lines/firestorm/images/037.jpg
and was wondering if anyone had any tips on paints/techniques?
I have both Tamiya and Vallejo acrylics but am not sure how to get that 'dry' stone look without the sheen

Brian,
1/ You can paint the wall stones individually mixing different shades of grey to get the colours you are looking for..
2/ Don't forget, stone will vary in colour.. When you are done, seal everything with a coat of future floor wax..
3/ Use a light grey wash to pick out the mortar lines of the wall. Load the brush abd touch it to the mortar line and let capillary action draw the wash in...
4/ When thats dry, dull coat the whole thing then dust with some earthy coloured pastels or washes to get that well worn and dirty look...
Hope this helps...
