I've recently learnt that placing those correction pen fluid works well too. In NZ, we call it twink but not sure what you guys call it over there. They do take a little while to dry up so perhaps that could be your alternative?

Yeah, we got 'twinks' here too, but they certainly aren't correction fluids :-) . R & J Enterprises produce a 2 - part putty for making zimmerit called Zimm-it-rite. It's slow drying so if you make a mistake, you can scrape it off the tank, roll it up, and re-apply it and start over.

Hello Andrew,
I just picked up a product called Apoxie Sculpt at the IPMS Nationals. It is a 2 part epoxy "clay". They had pictures of it used as zimmerit and it looked very nice. You can also make tarps, bedrolls, sand bags etc.. So it has many uses. work time is about 1 to 3 hours.
So lots of time to correct any mistakes and lord knows I will make them. I have not used it for the zimmerit yet but have heard it works very well. Here is there web address:

Hope this helps.

I tried some Zim-it-Rite for the first time this week. Looks like it would be great for a roller. (I did not follow the application directions and had some problems as a result.)
I any case, I highly reccomend this stuff. It is cheap (about $10) and comes with great instructions with pictures.
The people at R&J are great to deal with too.

Some of my zimmerit attempts:
DML Jagdpanther early, Hot knife Method:
DML Bergtiger(P) with DAP Crack Shot Spackle and the Tamiya zimmerit PE rake/comb. (I really like this DAP spackle. If you screw up just wipe it off and start over. $2.00 at Home Depot)
DML JgdIV with hot knife zim...
I have obviously tried about everything. Pretty happy with most of the results. Melting zimmerit into a model you just finished is pretty nerve racking the first time because if you screw it up there is no hiding it.

I don't have the AFV club roller. I haven't managed to use the Zim-it Rite correctly yet. My fault, not the products.
