Hello all

I'd like to show you some pics of my DML FlaK 36, all it needs are some parts that have fallen off to be re-attached, and I need to find the top portion of the gun travel lock, it fell victim to the carpet monster just before my dad took the pic.

Enjoy!

I've looked as closely as I can, and it looks good. The only thing I think you'll need to do before putting any paint on is sort out that big gap between the breech halves and the other in the gun slide. It will be worth it when you've finished. If you have trouble covering the seam between the gun slide halves, try and cut a piece of foil to size and placing this in.
*EDIT* I've just taken a look at those other pics, and I think you might have a major problem with seams. Try and fill and sand as many as possible before painting to improve the final appearance.

Hi Tigertankman

Ive built this kit and know from experince there are some prominent seam lines on the cruciform legs that take some cleaning up , it appears they are still visible on yours , you may wish to correct that before painting

Otherwise a very nice clean build , keep posting more pics as you progress

Hello monkeygun,

I know you can still see the seams, but thats because they are covered with clear superglue

Teacher,

I know about the gap and I know I need to fix it, thanks for the good ideas, heres how it got that way in the first place: ok, when I started building it, I guess I fitted it wrong, and I thought it was right, so I left it that way, but at least now I know how to fix it, also, what do you mean by gunslide? feel free to edit my pics to show me

The 'tray' that the breech slides up and down. It comes in two halves, a sort of 'U' shaped section. I also noticed from your pics that the sighting shield which slides out of place to allow the gunner to look through the main shield, is actually raised, yet the handle on the reverse side is still in the down position.

Yes, thankyou for pointing that out, I'm glad I figured out how that worked, its where the guy grabs the handle and slides it up right?, Thats the impression I get. As soon as I can get more pics i will pics I will post them, I have filled and sanded the legs and breech, and superglued together the gunslide and fixed the handle on the view plate.

T.Man,
Looking at your new pics on Photobucket, MVC-006S.jpg shows the breech still with a pronounced seam, and a the gun slide at an odd angle? It loos as if some locating peg just need 'snapping' into place?
Although the seams on the stabilisers can still be seen, they do look better, and what can be seen may become invisible once painted as it might be sanded filler. Difficult to see from the pics. Well done!

Yeah I know about the gunslide at the odd angle, I just dont know how to fix it, I tried snapping it into place, maybe, I could go in there with a small knife and trim it so it will sit right?
