The time is summer of '42, and the Germans are carrying their blitzkrieg through the southern steppes ... time to slow down the advance!

For my diorama, a Russian sniper has holed up in a peasant izba, and is cautiously peering through a window at the advancing Germans. The order has been placed for the Russian sniper set ($4.00), the rest is going to be scratchbuilt. I've found some cool pictures on the net of the Russian peasant houses, and having the window will allow some of the fancy stylings to be modelled.

This weekend, the construction begins!

Mika,
I'm quite excited about this "contest". So many new Armorama members I never talked to are now out there working all on the same challenge.
Your setting certainly "feels" good. I look forward to see that peasant house evolve...
Have fun !

Eagle tool? Fill us in!

I too am quite jazzed about the contest. The topic is sufficiently varied to allow a wide variety to be built, and the window gives it that thing that ties it all together. I hope to be able to post some pix on Monday.

Eagle's modeling tool is a niftly little program he made that is a scale calculator. Want to know how big a 4x4 foot window is in 1:35? Type in the data, and you get the measurements! :-) A great tool for anybody. I'll see if I can hunt down the thread with info about it...
