Having thrown an idea out there, I figured I'd go ahead and talk about what I'm planning.
Picture a cold and blustery night in late fall. Winter hovers just over the horizon, having made a few attempts to make its presence known. Night has fallen and Jack Frost has started to frost the windows. Remnants of the recent dustings of snow lie in the gutter amongst the run off.
An orderly returns from running an errand. His mind is on the warmth and companionship that awaits him when he returns to the inn in which he and a few comrades are staying. Rather than paying attention to the road and the city around him, we wistfully looks toward getting out the brisk air and feeling warmth return to his cheeks and limbs.
Unfortunately, his longing for the firelight has him so absorbed that he is paying attention to neither the road ahead or the dangers that may lie ahead.
I think I'm biting off more than I can chew, but I want to (attempt to anyways) paint an OMLS similar to the diorama that I posted the other day.
OK...now I'm off to search my library for a reference photo that will allow me to place/date this diorama.
