I'm not certain if this is the one you seek, but there is a photo in Cornelius Ryan's A Bridge too Far that shows German General Kussin's body after having been ambushed. He appears to have been riding in a camouflaged, civilian-model car. The car was shot up, as was the general, pretty badly. It's a close-up shot, a bit gruesome, and so I will not post a scan here, but this book is fairly common. Check the local library, or even a bookstore for the picture. My 1995 copy has it on page 300.

I know exactly which photo you're referring to. The German was the commendant of Arnheim, who drove out to see for himself...
Many civilian-type vehicles were impressed into service by the Whermacht. They were used by officers of all ranks for personal transportation. They were painted like any other military vehicle.
German officers apparently commandeered civilian vehicles all of the time.
I believe it was Hans Von Luck, in his fascinating book, who writes about taking his personal, civilian car all the way across Russia.
That vehicle could be almost any make & model.
Unfortunately, there arn't many 1/35 civilian vehicles from that time period, on the market.
In any case,
