Was there any conection between the 16. luftwaffe field division and the 503. schwere panzer abteilung in Normandy?

When sPzAbt 503 arrived in Normandy, they were initially attached to the 16th Luft FD. Photos of their arrival show Luftwaffe FD troops milling around. However, no action was recorded and the next day, they were attached to 22nd Pzr Rgt (21PD) and began the earnest defense of Caen.

From what I can tell of tactical maps, once the British offensives took place in Caen, their may have been some slight overlap btwn 16FD personnel and sPzAbt 503 Tigers and Tiger IIs but this would have only been coincidence and not planned.
