Hi all
I'm Steffen, born 1974, come from Germany and for about 20 years I love bulding models
...
most of the time
...
if I do not screw up ...
I "normally" build aircraft but since Tamiya came out with their 1/48 military line I widened my area of interest but focused on 1/48 scale (I had a few 1/35 tanks with diorama ideas in mind..)
Here is my 2nd tank. It is Tamiyas Hetzer and I was in time for TD campaign but I missed to become a member in time ...
comments welcome (bear in mind what I wrote above)
If you'd like to see the online build please see Here --- it is German but has some pix
Greetings from Germany
Steffen

Welcome to Armorama!
Good looking tank you´ve got, and thanks for the "buildstory", I need to train my Germanspeaking!

I think it looks great and the little dio you have it on is cool.
have you thought of adding a figure or two that would bring it to life a bit more
well done.
and welcome to the site
cheers karl

Thank you for your kind comments.
to Karl: actually I did not want to add a figure on this model as my figure painting skills are not existent .
I will try to add a commander figure to my StuG IIIB and put it in to a little vignette but with stickys StuG in mind I do hesitate ..

Steffen
I think you did a great job on that Hetzer What brand of paints did you use? Was the paint put on with an airbrush? There are some 1/48 scale model groups on Yahoo If you want the links please let me know

Chad, Thank you for your kind words!
I used Tamiya paints on this tank although I did not have all colours to hand (I mixed my own with a little artistic license).
As I used 2 Hauler sets it would be a shame to put them under a thick layer of paint -- so yes I used an airbrush (my good old Aztek 470).
Please, no offens inteded here. I know some guys who can brushpaint very good and thin but I do not
regarding the news groups: I'm member of Frank Bergers Heavy-steel (former born-too-late) news group and I regularily visit Track48 so I think I'm quite informed. More would only confuse me as I try to keep track with 4 further modelling sites and do some updates on IPMS Deutschland website which I administrate. Sometimes I also build models :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
Again many thanks
best wishes
Steffen

Looks very nice -- and I agree with other posters that popping a mini-man or two on there would make a good diorama even better.
