Check it out modellers. Hauler has recently released Culmeyer 50 ton and 80 ton trailers at 1/72nd scale. Using FAMO as the tractor and CMK FAMO figures, there are plenty of build configurations without occupying big display space.

... what's the black cylindrical thing (with the white lettering) in the first pic? some kind of water tank? an artillery barrel?

It could be two-phase storage tank since it has boot at the bottom of the tank (the tank is loaded upside down on the trailer). Can't read the russian words on the tank. Hope our members here can help out.

Argrillion, thanks very much for that. I noticed these trailers yesterday on Haule's website and I was going to do a news story on them. The problem was, I knew nohing about them whatsoever (until you posted)! So, thanks again....Jim

It looks like a boiler to me. Initialy i thought it was a locomotive boiler, but then the writing on the site shows that it's indeed upside down.
The writing is not Russian however, but German.
Can't quite make out the first letter but it says " (D ?)urrwerke- Ratingen " which is the name and location of the factory.
Cheers
Henk

... on a slightly related topic, trumpeter's 1/72 Famo seems to be an excellent kit... here's the review from Track Link:
