Hi there. Wanting to know the date of the taking of the bridge at Remagen. Have just purchased the Dragon US advance to the Rhine, and need to know if they had any new equipment or uniform changes since the Normandy landings...
Thanks in advance

Brad -
The Remagen Bridge was taken on March 7, 1945 by elements of the 9th Armoured Division; 27th Armoured Infantry Battalion and 14th Tank Battalion. Not positive, but seems most likely that they would had been re-supplied with latest equipment by then. Movie "The Bridge at Remagen" (George Segal, Robert Vaughn, Ben Gazzara) is available from MGM on DVD. Though "Hollywooded", it is an enjoyable telling of Lt Timmermann and his men's exploits who were the first US soldiers across Remagen Bridge. Hope this helps some,

The Dragon advance to the rhine figures are more than enough for the remagen date. IIRC, the uniforms of these figures were worn late 1944 till the end of the war.
Hope this helps

Thanks for the responses. So basically my September '44 with a figure or 2 from this kit will be historically accurate at least...
Yeah, saw the flick when I was a lil tacker. did it have Robert Vaughn in it? The man from U.N.C.L.E.?

Figures should work fine. Yeah, that was the same Robert Vaughn. He played the Commander of the German defenders in the movie. Keep us posted on your project.
