Hola!
I'm well on my way in the dio contest, but I have a question about figuring the cost of our dio's.
How do we figure the cost of things such as:
Magic Sculpt, only use a small amout of the bough stuff.
Scrap Wood
Small piece of foam board
Copper sheet, used less then 1/3rd of the whole sheet
Figure parts, such as a head and hands
The little plaster and celluclay used.
Or do we just figure the cost of things we bought specifically for this project or that we already had at hand, like kits etc.
Would be good to have a set guideline for the cost as this might become a factor of the end reslut.
So how do you figure out the cost of your project?

You should ask keith, but I think normal, reasonable material does not come in the equasion, neither does the use of equipment, paint, your working hours.
For the figure and other accessories, you have to bill. Also for parts of buildings or other pieces that were bought - even when you bought them years ago. Resin is charged, too.
Your diorama base is billed, too.
Would it be acceptable if we add a "forfait" sum of 5 ( or 6, 7, 8,... ) dollars for clay, plaster, static grass, snow, paint, glue, putty, ... to our total cost for the contest dio - for everyone alike ?

Definitly ask Keith for an official ruling.
My take will be to include some cost for everything. Scrap wood base = $0.25, plaster pouring = $0.30, latex used in plaster mold = $0.25, balsa wood scarps = $0.75 etc.
I did ask Keith about the mold and pouring and he confirmed that the mold and pouring ingredients should be included.
I am doing this for the sake of ensuring that I don't go over the $30 limit.
Anything specifically purchased for this build get full billing in my eyes.
So - I got to thinking -- everyone is asking these same questions and I would be surprised if there wasn't some kind of information out there - Guess what - Our Wonderous leaders did it. Look at the Rules in the Dio Forum. There are updates that cover these questions.
