This is my WWII dio I’ve been working on.

I think the wall itself is finished now. I’ve given it a burnt look and sealed it.

And here’s both sides of the wall together. I still don’t have them attached but that is the location they will be at.

I would appreciate any comments on the wall itself. Good or bad.

Also I laid out the main areas for the large heaps of rubble on the base. You can get a good look at them in this shot.

The 2 lines across the bottom corners are where I’m planing on putting the 2 roads.
I’ll be putting slabs on the upper side of the lines followed by grass. I just need some help with this.

This is going to be in ether Denmark or Poland.
How long and wide should I make the slabs? And how high should the top of the slabs be from the road?
The measurements don’t have to be in 1:35 scale. 1:1 would be fine.

Thanks.

Nice wall! Very well weathered.

I suggest not having the building or roads at exactly 45 degrees to the board. IMO it looks a bit better at a completely random angle.

Actually it is a random angle so to speak.
The building was going to have the window facing foreword more but the piece of wood’s to small. So I put the building angled where it would fit with the window facing as close to the front as I had room.

The roads are matched up with the house.

I do agree with you just cant really do anything to change it.

what if you just had one road running parallel to one of the walls...IMHO i think it would less symetrical even of the roads are skewed off a little

Hey Jacob
When talking of slabs, are you referring to raised pavement off the road level? Is so, then for a cobblestone road there is generally the stones, then a slight fall down and away into the kerb/curbing channel (which can be cut lengths of stone) followed by cut stone forming the wall of the gutter which would be approx. 6-10 inches from the gutter base. The top of this wall is where the pavement would start... Hope this helps
Brad
PS The walls have come up great!

Thanks brad.
Yes the slabs I was talking about are the sidewalk part.
I guess its really not slabs but I meant each of the poured sections. I don’t know there exact name.

Any how I’m a little confused. Are you saying the road should look like this?

This will be fun.

1
_____ ..........3
XXXX ] 2 .. ___________
XXXX ]___/

1 walk
2 gutter
3 road

its not in scale. the Xs and .s Are just there to keep place.

My reference pictures don’t show the gutter. Would it be used in small towns?

Bodymovin that might work. thanks.

I can leave the road running along the wall with the window.
