I'm building academy m151a1 with recoilles gun. My question regards spare whel mount. Well it seems to me that instructions indicates thye mounting to be placed too far to front of the jeep unlike in the academys previous TOW jeep. So should I place it like in the instructions or like in this picture:


Anyone has some idea about it? Also the kit has no small splash guard before the spare wheel like in the picture, is that correct for vietnam era MUTT?

I built the Academy 151 ant the spare tire is in the position as in the photo. It should be in the same place as the tow Vehicle. The same MUTT was used for both versions.

I think academy did a sloppy work omitting a part in the kit and doing instructions that are unexact on placing of the wheel mount. Luckily I've had the spare wheel guard from their old TOW kit in my spares.

It just spoils some fun (just a tiny little bit) from a kit that is nice and cute and goes together like a dream
