I need to know in the Panzer IV's how where the 7.5cm rounds stored in the ammunition bins? Where they in storage with the rounds up [standing up] or where they stored showing just the bottom of the shell casing [upside down]?

I belive that they were indeed stored shell up, with the base floor-side.

I have to disagree with you Desert-Fox. Information on AFV Interiors web site states that the shells, at least the ones stored behind the drivers seat, were stored shell down.

Hmmm seems your'e right. I think that's rather silly. The shells ARE stored face down, the others seem to be on their side. VERY odd.
I wonder what would happen if you were foolish enough to drop a heavy object in the sriker cap? BBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
I stand corrected ukgeoff.

I think the rounds would be much easier to grab with the base up. And you'd have to hit the striker very hard to set off the round.

Hello Pz IV-friends!
It is as you were afraid of: the rounds were stored shell down as well as horizontal as well as shell up!
Additional to this one has to consider, which version of Pz IV is the topic. There is quite a difference between the storing of the short 7,5cm L/24 of the long 7,5cm L/43 rounds! So do you mean the Ausf up to "F" or the ones from Ausf "F2" and later?
for more information have also a look at:
Panzer IV Universe, where there is also this picture to be found:
