I have searched the forums, online sites, and through my reference library and have determined the following: The StuG's and StuH's of Stug Abt 280 were manufactured in the first two weeks of September, and are thus very early late varients. It is clear from pictures that none had the remote MG installed, but there is no question that they have late fighting compartment rooves. Due to their date of manufacture they would only have 3 Piltzen points, and a port for the nahverteidigungswaffe. What I cannot figure out is if the nahverteidigungswaffe was installed, or just the cover plate was present. Does anyone have any pics of these vehicles that could prove this one way or the other?
Thanks,

Hi John ...I don't know for sure about those specific stugs ,but if they were the early lates...I do believe that there was quite a delay in having those nahverteidigungswaffe delivered..so I don't think anyone would prove you wrong if you just plated them over .
