I needs a few anwers about the Mörser Karl.

I want to build the Mörser Karl with te rail sections and all that stuff.
The Mörser Karl will hang between it
But my questions is,

Wich hydraulic pipes must I use on the jack?? the long or the short ones??
I mean the two pipes in the front of each truck.
Not that thing wich can turn around.

(for the ones who build the Trumpeteer Mörser Karl number 00209, I mean part C6 or C8)

Question 2 is, are the wheels for transport raised or lowered?? (raised I mean in firing position, and lowered I mean in driving position.)

Hope you can help me with this two questions.

Ow an other question...

If I place the gun on his position in the hull, it doesn't seem to fill the space that is required for it.
There is still a large space in the end.

Is this normal or do I miss something??

Hi,
From photographic evidence, when the Morsers were in transit, the running gear would be raised. Then there were hooks on cables from near the support rollers, which would be hooked through the holes in the track centerguides,to hold them up.
As for the fore/aft positioning of the gun and mount while in transit,I would suspect the assembly might be in the center of the tracked vehicle,to centralize the center of gravity.

I think. (++) (++)

That would be a big problem because I bought the kit second handed.... and the wheels are allready build and they are in driving position..

Now the hydraulic pipes.....

Bedankt!! (ow sorry Thanks!!)

Hi Hilbert
I've just completed this kit,so I hope this helps....
mine is going to be displayed being detrained so the running gear will be in travelling mode as will the walk ways and hand rails.
The recoil housing is not fitted ,nor are the sights or loading tray(the latter two being fitted to my Dragon Karl)
I have used the longer jack rams(C6) as my Morser will be on the ground and the arms/frames lifted so the rail cars can be towed clear.
All handles on the jacks have been fitted as these would be needed to adjust the frames while unloading.
Once again hope this helps
Andy
P.S the gun carriage is positioned at the rear(away from the drivers position) for transport , loading and firing, the big gap you have is to allow for the recoil
AFV Modeller issue 12,and Tamiya model mag #116 june05 are helpful

Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks
That is usefull information thank you very much.

BEcause the wheels were allready been build by an other guy, are the wheels in ''driving'' position.
But I have been thinking about ''why shouldn't I place the Morser on the rails, but not hang in the rail carriage''??

And I thought on a dio with figs (yoopie ) and would add a name plate with a title like, ''almost ready to hang''

Or something ofcaurse.

What do you think???

Nice idea you have there, Add lots of figures, think about the manpower needed for loading and unloading (or hanging) this monster. Add a pzkfw IV ammo carrier. Maybe a box car and several rail tracks. It shure is going to be a huge diorama .

Let's see some updates now

I don't add a panzer 4, but a few figs is not a problem...

Well I tyhink it will be huge but first of all I will build this mighty thing.
And paint it ofcaurse.... then I will build the dio
