I have used Tamiya Surface Primer for the first time 10 minutes ago. It looks allright, but I think ordinary auto primer do the job just as well (and it's cheaper).

Dont know if Tamiya primer has any 'special properties' to it, but I just use Testor's gray primer spray can, works great, and probably cheaper

I used Gunze Mr Surfacer 1000 and Mr Surfacer 1200. They both work fine. Tamiya Surface Primer ought to give you the same outcome.

What's the difference between Gunze Mr Surfacer 1000 and Mr Surfacer 1200?? Haven't used Gunze primers before. I'm using Tamiya surface primer and they work fine..

The higher the number, the finer the primer is. I think they starts with Mr. Surfacer 500 in a bottle and I use it for adding texture on casted turrents. I sometimes use it for filling up minor gaps as well when I am too lazy to bring out the good old putty and sandpaper. Mr surfacer 1000 in a spray can is good enough as a primer for 1/35 AFV. Haven't used 1200 myself so can't comment on it.

Thanks, Ok, But what is the method to apply than the Mr surface 1000 as the Tamiya Liquid primer. You applied this primer by airbrush? and when? when the model is prepared in order to paint?
Thanks

The Mr. Surfacer 1000 that I use comes in a spray can. I am not sure whether it comes in bottles or not. If it does, surely you can use airbrush to spray it on too.
Since Mr.surfacer will be used as a primer, this will be the first layer of paint going on to your tank after you have prepared the model for painting. I am a kind of lazy person who only paint the model when it is assembled.

You apply Tamiya Primer like the Gunze Surfacer. Through a spray can. Haven't seen both the Tamiya and Gunze primers in those bottle form where you use an airbrush to apply them onto your AFV... Not sure if both companies do make them in that way.

The grey Tamiya primer will not fill scratches. What makes it so good is that it doesn't obscure detail!
I think something like the Gunze Mr Surfacer might be better, but I've never used those so I can't say for sure.

Thanks OK. I see both products with bottle format also. It is probably I buy this format to apply with airbrush. I suppose I need be carefull with the airbrush to avoid any problem with them. OK I probe both products, I send you what is the results. I need to eliminate the cratches to my model.
