Has anyone else built this poor excuse for a kit? Can anyone give me some tips for writing reviews? I have to warn people about this kit!!!

I believe it is one of their earlier kits when they were still making bad copies of other companies' kits. This one was copied from the Heller kit. Model Expo had them on sale for less than $10 for a while (Heller kit). The Heller kit isn't bad, but should have been better since it is made in France and this is France's top MBT.

yes, in France we're always a bit sorry with what heller does... it's good quality, but you need some work to make a great kit out of it.
Anyway, that's good buisiness for small french companys that sell aftermarket products of great quality !

To merkava8 :
if you do a review, tell us about :
- the ease of build, the fitting
- errors in shape, dimensions
- quantity of details
anything else ?

Well I'm going on a leadership course next week so I'll see if I can whip something up.

I've pretty well shelved mine. Built the heller kit quite awhile ago and from my recollection Trumpeter's isn't even close. Horrible fit, gaps etc. The trumpeters that I've bought, 2 tanks and the two wheeled units remind me of the earliest Tamiya efforts that came with electric motors.

Good luck on your ISCC! Hope you don't have any snow for your field portion!

SO, I take it, It's not a good Idea to build this particular kit. Are there any other manufactures like Tamiya or Revell that have produced this kit ?? If so Who ?? and are they any good as well ??

The only decent LECLERC kit is by Heller.
If you're interested in modern french armor, there's also a VAB in their line.
You can find resin stuff for both, to make a great kit.

If you do a forum search using my user name and Heller LeClerc. I did a quick open box look at one I bought from Model Expo. It is an impressive kit and was well worth the sale price I paid for it.

Hey Mike,
I don't mean to be rude but HA HA HA HA HA, nothing better than routine in the defence, and building snow defences in -30 c weather, I don't envy you. Good luck, have fun carrying all the new kit we have in your old ruck and let us know how it went.

Cheers
Mark
