I am looking for some information about an Egyptian tank the Ramsis or Ramsis II. It was a heavily modified T55/62 with a US 105mm gun in its turret, the power pack and suspension from a M60. Anyone have information or pictures on this tank?

I would assume that it was not developed or adopted by Egypt. What did they replace their Soviet tanks with after the Yom Kippor War?

Nothing on the Ramsis tank, but Egypt bought a bunch of M60 tanks in the late 70's and early '80s, when they became one of our allies in the Middle East. They had M60A3s in ODS.

Jim,
The Israeli's did the same thing as you suggest. It was called the TI-67S, and featured the M60 pwr pk,
L7A2 105mm M68 gun, Blazer armor, Merkava suspension,Added stowage. It is Featured in Janes Armmor and Tanks circa 86-88' I have printed copies if you cant find it. Todd

The TI-67 looks very much like a T-62, but this had the bulge of the M-60 engine compartment with air filters and the road wheels. I have the book, some place and will post it when I find it.
