They are simply rubber-band tracks, nothing else. Another indication of Academy's continued decline?...Jim

I yearn for the simplicity of rubber-band tracks... I'm either too lazy or inept (or both) to endure Dragon's three-piece indies! I know what you're saying Jim, but for shermans it really doesn't matter (oo! can I get away with that?).
So do you really think Academy are on the way down?

Methinks that yes, they are in decline. Just look at their recent new kits. You may want to read Vodnik's review of the sheridan tank and I may tell you about their new m151a1 kit. Well the jeep has wrong rear suspension, is missing parts from the front suspension and the M151A1C recoilless jeep is missing at least one part needed specifically for it. Now this i think is slightly lousy.

My knowledge of Academy is based solely on their M10 series and Tank Accessory sets, which I think are generally pretty good. I read the Sheridan review, but I've been more interested in their mythological Grant/Lee releases... Maybe they've decided that there's too much competition from the likes of Dragon.

Acaemy has completely lost its direction. Take for example its recent 1/72nd releases, if they had done them in 1/48th scale, a lot of aviation modellers would have been very happy - in 1/35th, over the moon. The Grants and Lees are indeed 'mythical' . The idea of doing vinyl tracks as AM accessories is frankly absurd. Those who buy AM tracks want seperate link or link 'n length - not something from the original kit...silly...Jim

Well, I guess I must be really gullible, because I will buy these if they become available in the US. Yes in the US, because I truly believe in supporting my LHS, but that's another story. For live pin tracks such as used on the Sherman, rubber band tracks are fine, and in my opinion much easier to get the right "lay" to them.

I would love to get a couple of sets. I am constantly short on Sherman track! Most of my DML track I have used as armour for my last two Canadian Shermies. I do like this idea and I now a buddy who is fighting with AFV Club indy tracks who would love a set. I say "Well done Academy!".
