Hi all,
I just got the Model Victoria kit (very nice kit with a crisp detail and seemingly few flash). I read the notice and found it quite "light" in terms of parts location.
Some parts numbers are given to different parts, some parts aren't mentioned.
My question to anyone having built it is : is it difficult to assemble and especially the lower hull and the chassis ?
Does anyone have the meaning of the numerous decals issued with the kit as unfortunately the manufacturer gives a lot of decals but only one decoration scheme ?
TIA

No problem with this kit ,Olivier.Even if it's a resin kit ,you can say it seems like a plastic model.I don't know if you have the short version of the B1(that one seen in Somalia) or the long version (like that one seen in Irak in operation Antica Babilonia).I built this last one and yes you have a rich decal paper but just one option for a Irak Centauro (19° Cavalleggeri Guide) About the construction pay attention when you assemble the turret basket :you're provided with some dimes that really help you but nebulous instructiones to fix the "Galix" smoke launchers on side stowage rails.Good reference is the volume TankMaster Special issue n.2 :Blindo Centauro AFV that you can find at http://www.tuttostoria.it.Have a nice kit.

Hiya,
Just picked up the long version myself at euro militaire this weekend, cant wait to get started on it but was just wondering if there are any variations on the all over army green colour scheme as i am a sucker for alternate camouflage schemes.

Thanks Guido.
I got the long version. As you stated, the notice is quite nebulous in some areas but the kit itself is a real marvel.
I'll try to get some info and pics prior to start building ... but it's at the very bottom of my to-do list so I've some time to gather useful stuff.

I am currently working on the Model Victoria Centauro short wheel-base kit at the moment. Although the kit is the nicest piece of resin I have ever laid hands on, I would agree with your assesment that the instructions are somewhat vague.
A previous post stated that the 'Tankmaster special' is a good reference for a Centauro build. I would go even further and state that it's a must have if you plan to build the MV kit!! Without the book and its wealth of high quality reference photos, I would have no idea as to the location of some of the kit's parts.
I would strongly recommend that you buy that book online right now!! It has English captions so it is a very useful and user friendly reference for a Centauro build.
As to the markings dilemna, if you find out what the various markings signify, please post such information here!! I don't speak Italian so the many Italian armed forces sites are not much use to me (besides for the pictures). Perhaps we could beg one of the nice bilingual (Italian and English) participants of this DG to explain the unit and vehicle marking schemes.
Cheers - Dan
