I know this is an odd question But I got to ask it In German Ausf designations why was there never an Ausf I or Ausf K? For example the Panzer III There was an Ausf H then it went to Ausf J Then it went to Ausf L
Don't worry This question doesn't keep me awake at nights :-) :-)

i think they don't used the letter 'I' is because not to confuse with the number '1'.
as for ausf.K i can't find any references but interestingly Dragon has a Pz.III ausf.K befelswagen kit.... perhaps ausf.K is a rare type and only used as command tanks???

I've got the above kit, it is a Pz III with a modified Pz IV turret.
Sometimes their Ausf. letter does not signify a subsequent progression. For example, the first version of the Panther was the Ausf. D, followed by the Ausf. A. Similarly, the Tiger began as the Ausf. H and then went to the Ausf E.

On that version of the Pz III,did that turret have a 50mm or 75mm gun?
